TCE Program in 4 provinces (Zambia)
About 1.3 million people in Zambia are presently known to be living with HIV of which 65% are on treatment. In 2017 the Zambian government implemented a new policy of test and treat meaning all people found HIV positive after counselling and testing are immediately starting Anti-Retroviral Therapy.
The TCE project started in Southern Province in 2006, and expanded to Lusaka Province with funding directly from Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in 2015. It expanded to Copperbelt in 2017 in partnership with JSI (International NGO) and started to implement index client testing.
In 2019 DAPP implemented TCE in partnership with CIDRZ (Local Partner) from six compounds of Lusaka, as well as in 7 districts in Eastern and two districts in Western Provinces with funding from CDC through the Provincial Medical Offices.
In 2020, TCE activities will continue in Eastern, Lusaka and Western Province and will expand to 7 districts of Southern Province.
