Preventing HIV/AIDS in Vulnerable Populations – Total Control of the Epidemic (South Africa)

The project was initiated in December 2018 and is scheduled to end in December 2023.  PHVP-TCE project is made possible by a partnership with USAID. The project builds on Humana People to People South Africa’s long history of implementing large-scale HIV and AIDS, TB projects in disadvantaged communities across South Africa.

The objective is to implement the activities through the Stepping Stones Program Model which mobilizes people to join a Stepping Stone Support group which is facilitated by a Facilitator who has been trained.

The project will reach 15 430 participants, participants will come from the homogenous groups of men,  and Adolescent Girls and Young Womens. Participants will go through a 10 days’ session in a 1-month cycle per group of 15-20 participants.

The project started to implement its activities in the month of April 2019. The project covers 2 Districts Ehlanzeni District (Nkomazi and Bushbuckridge sub-districts) and Gert-Sibande District (Mkhondo and Chief Albert Luthuli sub-districts).
