Farmers’ Clubs – PANACUM (Brazil)
The project started in May 2017. Its concept is to organise rural farmers in Farmers’ Clubs structures and to assist them in income generation through practising sustainable agriculture.
During the project, farmers are organised into farmers’ networks that aim at increasing access to public programs, especially access to micro-credit, and access to safe water. The project offers the people an organised club life, including elements such as training sessions, model farming, field visits, low cost sustainable solutions, technical assistance, exchange of collectively gained experiences, common actions and courses among others.
The project works through a coordination of the Project Leader in partnership with three professionals from Technical Assistance and Rural Extension, mobilising 18 local leaders and about 900 families of farmers, organised in their social organisations and respective communities.
